StorTrends 1100i is a dual dialect storage appliance that is used for both NAS and IP SAN storage. It can be used as primary storage in existing Ethenet networks. iSCSI support allows block applications like Exchange, SQL Server and ORACLE and data to be deployed or stored on the same server as traditional file services and storage. Ideal for primary or secondary storage, it provides many enterprise features at a price tag starting under $3.50/GB.
The StorTrends 1100i features new dual dialect StorTrends iTX 2.1 software offers support for both block-based and filebased data on the same storage appliance.
The StorTrends 1100i offers hot swappable drive bays with SATA support. Other features introduced with the 1100i are advanced Snapshot, thin and exact provisioning, network teaming support, caching support and UPS support. Advanced Snapshot implements a point-in-time copy of a volume similar to taking a picture of the data at that instant. AMI's Snapshot technology is unique which offers near-ZERO performance degradation by reducing the number of IO operations by a factor of three. Network teaming support ensures load balancing across the dual ethernet ports. Target caching support significantly improves performance. UPS support enables the automatic switching of the target cache mode to write-through in the event of a power loss.
ManageTrends, AMI's Storage Management Suite based on Microsoft's .NET technology, discovers and manages StorTrends 1100i appliances deployed across the network and assists in analyzing and tracking enterprise wide storage usage. ManageTrends monitors the storage and storage-related events, provides a detailed analysis of the storage usage and the availability of the storage servers.
